Updated Wednesday 4 November 2026. Plans change, so always check the official sources linked below before you travel.
Sydney
- From Wed 4 Nov – Bus industrial action: work bans may delay or cancel some buses in the Eastern Suburbs, Northern Beaches, lower North Shore and inner north-west, including some services to and from the CBD. Trains, light rail and roads are expected to be busier than usual, so allow extra time if you’re relying on a bus to reach the airport.
- Fri 6 Nov – Sydney FC v Central Coast Mariners, Allianz Stadium (7.40pm): delays expected on the Eastern Distributor, Moore Park Rd, Cleveland St and Anzac Pde during the Friday evening peak.
- Sat 7 Nov – Ladies Day, Rosehill Gardens: heavier traffic on James Ruse Dr and Hassall St from late morning until after the last race (around 6.10pm).
- From Sat 7 Nov – Powerhouse Parramatta opening festival (until 29 Nov): heavy traffic expected on Parramatta Rd, Church St, Victoria Rd and James Ruse Dr, with high demand for nearby parking.
- Sun 8 Nov – Rugby League World Cup semi-finals, Allianz Stadium: gates open 4pm with matches into the night (men’s semi kicks off 8.05pm). Expect delays on the Eastern Distributor and around Moore Park from mid-afternoon.
- Tue 10 Nov – Foo Fighters, Accor Stadium: concert crowds on top of the weeknight peak, so expect heavy traffic on the M4, Homebush Bay Dr and Parramatta Rd in the evening.
- Sat 14 Nov – a very busy night: Robbie Williams at Accor Stadium plus Joji at Afterpay Arena in Sydney Olympic Park; Jack Johnson in the Domain from 4pm (expect slow CBD traffic around Macquarie St, College St and Art Gallery Rd); and F3 Polo in Centennial Park (12–7pm).
- Sun 15 Nov – Iron Maiden, Allianz Stadium (6.10pm): delays expected on the Eastern Distributor, Moore Park Rd, Cleveland St and Anzac Pde.
- Ongoing – Sydney Harbour Bridge works: lane closures and lower speed limits at various times until the end of December, with at least one lane kept open each way.
Brisbane
- Sun 15 Nov – Rugby League World Cup finals, Suncorp Stadium: men’s and women’s finals double-header from mid-afternoon. Expect big crowds around Milton and Caxton St, and busy flights into Brisbane over the weekend. See our Brisbane airport transfers.
