Travellers walking through a bright Sydney Airport terminal

Sydney Airport has three passenger terminals, and turning up at the wrong one is one of the most common travel mistakes. The international and domestic terminals are on opposite sides of the airport, so getting it right from the start saves a lot of stress.

The terminals at a glance

TerminalFlightsTip
T1 InternationalAll international flightsAllow at least 3 hours before departure
T2 DomesticDomestic flights for several airlinesCheck your booking for your terminal
T3 DomesticQantas domestic flightsAllow at least 90 minutes before departure

Airlines occasionally change terminals – always check your booking or the airline’s website before you travel.

How far apart are the terminals?

T1 International is on the western side of the airport, while T2 and T3 Domestic sit side by side on the eastern side. Moving between international and domestic means a transfer by road or train – so if you have a connecting flight, allow plenty of time.
